Listen: John Robinson

Three albums deep in 2008, it is time the name John Robinson become as common as… the name John Robinson.

John Robinson is another under-appreciated name to survive the fall of Fondle'em Records. Formerly known as Lil' Sci of Scienz of Life, John Robinson has been steady grinding since 1996.

With the folding of the label that gave him his debut, Robinson has carried on through collaborations and mixtapes. But in 2008 alone, John Robinson has released three, count it, three albums:

What's The Science was made with producer Carlos Nino, though the original beats are culled from Doom's Special Herbs and Spices series.

His latest is I Am Not For Sale, out now on Fat City Recordings:

The album features production from Flying Lotus, Jneiro Jarel and J. Rawls. Judging from these two leaked tracks, not much has changed for Lil' Sci. The beats are still jazzy and he's still got that signature lay-in-the-cut flow.
