Listen: The Hood Internet blends Wale & Parenthetical Girls

Suddenly, the Hood Internet makes mash-ups seem like a trend with some life left in it.

The Hood Internet is a remix/DJ duo from Chicago that continues to validate the necessity for indie everything vs. hip hop. Thanks to The Hood Internet I know what Maino's “Hi Hater” sounds like over Crystal Castles and I know what Public Enemy's “Bring The Noise” would sound like if HEALTH replaced Anthrax. Color me impressed.

This marrying of the artistic minds brings mixtape marathon runner Wale's “Ice Cream Girls” into the experimental pop world of Parenthetical Girls (“A Song For Ellie Greenwich”).
