The Media’s 50th issue party with Downtown Boys, Pinkwash and more at Silent Barn

On Monday, December 22, The Media celebrated the release of their 50th issue with a fantastic show at Silent Barn in Brooklyn, NY. The event began with an open editorial meeting which encouraged people to share their thoughts on Media and The Media along with submit ideas for future issues of the webpaper. After the open editorial meeting, various contributors read pieces that appeared in The Media such as Cynthia Ann Schemmer, Chris Lee, Nina Mashurova, and Victoria L. Ruiz (who asked friends to help read her piece, “On Ferguson“). There were live music performances by Philadelphia’s Pinkwash (who were profiled in issue number 47 by Beck Levy) and Downtown Boys, the Providence, RI political punk band fronted by Ruiz, who performed as a four piece.

Celebrating 50 issues of the bi-weekly webpaper known as The Media. Congrats to all of you on this milestone!
