Jim and the French Vanilla, “Not Even War”

Meredith Schneider

While Jim and the French Vanilla – the solo project from the (clearly) multi-talented Jim Blaha (The Blind Shake) – has been diligently prepping for the release of the third album under the aforementioned moniker, a collection titled Afraid Of The House. It won’y be available until February, but we’ve got the exclusive premiere of the new track “Not Even War”.

An incredibly uptempo song, the first thing you notice is the strum of the strings, which overtake the instrumentals. Once the vocals set in, you’re completed transported back in time, to a more psychedelic space, ridden with reverb and a lightweight quality. Check it out below.

Keep up with Jim and the French Vanilla here. Afraid of the House is out February 10th via Dirtnap Records.
