LYON, “gold dust”

Elizabeth Schneider

LYON, the musical name of Toronto-born Lauren Malyon, began the journey to write her upcoming EP Falling Up after a serious spinout car accident in Toronto, March 2015.  Shortly afterward, LYON travelled to Los Angeles for her first writing trip. Falling Up was born of collaborations and writing from that trip. Her latest single “gold dust” is from that EP.

LYON has a cherubic, clear quality to her voice that makes “gold dust” jump through the air to your ears.  Combined with synthesizers and dance beats, she has created a catchy tune that is timeless in its appeal.  “gold dust” could have seamlessly been on the soundtrack of a John Hughes movie as it could play in a club today.

LYON’s second EP Falling Up is out September 16th.
