Tampa's Merchandise graced our ears with a new track. “Anxiety Door” is an escalating seven minute anthem fueled by dynamic guitars, driving bass, atmospheric vocals, and surging drums. The band released this track to pump us up for their national tour beginning in March, and yes, we are pumped. This will also be the first tour with their new full time drummer Elsner Niño, of NYC bands Shoxx and Pollution. Merchandise has thrown out their drum machine in favor of a flesh and blood drummer. The drum machine had proven difficult to perform with in the past and lacked the drive of an actual drummer. Elsner Niño will do well to fill the missing piece.
“Anxiety Door” is one of five tracks to be released this spring on Merchandise's new EP Totale Night through Night-People Records. In light of all of this great news, Merchandise has left us with a lot to be excited about. They will be touring with Wet Hair and Iceage, and are playing a show in Santa Ana, CA with Nick Waterhouse, The Black Lips, and Beached. Make sure to catch them at one of the thirty-two tour dates, especially if you will be around SXSW this spring.
