Denmark’s The Foreign Resort are reissuing their neo-new-new romantic EP The American Dream on CD October 14 through the Dallas imprint Moon Sounds Records & share a listen with news of their North American tour happening now through October 2 (with dates listed below). Mikkel Jakobsen with Morten Hansen & Steffan Petersen have their sights set on recording a full-length projected for release sometime in 2017 as their 2011 EP sees a re-issue after a PledgeMusic campaign. Half a decade on, the EP resounds with some of the greatest industrial goth pop that sounds as fresh now as it did in 2011.

The American Dream EP charges with the blood rush of a new breed with “The New Blood”, then slithers through the rows of homogenized tract homes on the perpetual night flight on “Suburban Depression”. The code of dischord & dissonance is off the charts & scales with the paranoia & pipe dream pursuits of “Onto Us”, that finds a moment of breath & sanctuary with the star gazing & space-bound “Under Bright Neon Stars”, before the wild ride between the asphalt metropolitan rubble & the stars is heard on the last song “Skyline/Decay”. The Foreign Resort’s Mikkel B. Jakobsen provided us with the following exlusive intro/preface on the reissue of The American Dream EP and what it means to him today:

For me The American Dream is both the dream of this vast and beautiful country where I know so many passionate and loving people as well as the nightmare that is American society, corporate greed and an overwhelming stupidity and ignorance as we see it right now in Donald Trump’s popularity, triggered by fear and hate. A sad story that makes many Americans I know afraid of the future. My fascination with America and my American friends is what drives me to come back and do these tours. I’m kinda scared to be in this country where there are guns and desperate people everywhere, but while discovering this terrible truth I have also become personally very connected to a lot of people across the US as well as in Canada.

The Foreign Resort’s reissue of The American Dream EP will be available October 14 through the Dallas imprint Moon Sounds Records.
