Baby Jesus – Took Our Sons Away

Post Author: Mike Mehalick

There’s something about a particular strain of rock ‘n roll that works on two levels dear to me. Blistering guitar-led garage-rockers I can kick up some sweat to? Check. Hazy surf and country inflected jams for cozying up next to a PBR in a wood paneled dive? Double check.
Such is the swirl of sounds present on Halmstad, Sweden-based quarter Baby Jesus‘ second album, Took Out Sons Away, which is premiering in full today on Impose Magazine. Comprised of Fredrik Kristoffersson (guitar/vox), Elis Jäghammar (bass/vox), Svante Pålsson (guitar) and Rasmus Högdin (drums), the band draws influence from the legendary 13th Floor Elevators mixed with psych-rock luminaries of their native Sweden.
Took Out Sons Away runs the gamut of styles for anyone in the mood for searing solos, rollicking rhythms and a throwback sound. Check it all out in full below and order your copy of the record via Yippe Ki Yay Records.
