The indie singer-songwriter was riveting in Chicago along with opener Phoebe Go

The rising singer-songwriter and guitar virtuoso Briston Maroney, who hails from Knoxville, TN, has been lighting up the indie musical sphere over the past couple years on the strength of his two albums: 2021’s Sunflower and 2023’s Ultrapure. He’s also a fantastic live performer with a killer show to boot. This past week, Maroney brought the house down at Chicago’s Thalia Hall with a sold-out crowd in attendance.

With a set drawing heavily from Ultrapure, Maroney also incorporated deeper cuts off his beloved earlier EPs, including multiple tracks off Carnival and Indiana. Earlier in the night, up-and-coming alt-pop rising star Phoebe Go opened with a wonderful set of her own. You can scroll through below for some of the highlights from a fantastic night.
