Swirlies at Le Poisson Rouge

The indie rock greats returned to New York with Frankie Rose & W0rmh0les in tow

Indie rock stalwarts Swirlies are back on the road, and they rolled through New York this week with a dynamic set at Le Poisson Rouge. The Boston-based vets, who have released a number of classic albums in their career including 1996’s seminal They Spent Their Wild Youthful Days in the Glittering World of the Salons, brought their hypnotic blend of indie, twee pop and shoegaze to a delighted crowd that was hyped from start-to-finish.

Along for the ride was fellow noise pop/indie rock purveyor Frankie Rose, who delivered a stellar opening set of her own, as well as rising NYC artist W0rmh0les, who conjured an elegant display of electronica-infused shoegaze and new wave.
