On the first Sunday after the first full moon of the Hindu calendar, the spring festival of Holi takes place. Participants throw dye and powder at each other in order to chase away winter during the Phagwah Parade. The largest Phagwah celebration in North America takes place in Richmond Hill, Queens. On Sunday, March 11, our photographer attended this year's parade and returned these wonderful, very colorful images.
