As the name suggests, Atlas Sound's "Terra Incognita" is an exploration of something unknown. Gone is the distinct fuzz coating Bradford Cox's vocals as well as the syrupy stream of pop-inspired guitar. Like a science fiction tale unfolding with the main character, a mystified explorer, traversing a somewhat neutral new planet, Bradford Cox of Atlas Sound pokes around his usual style with subtle acoustic gestures and innocent, unaltered vocals.
The single is off of Parallax, his upcoming LP due out November 8 on 4AD.
