Hooded Fang, “Ode to Subterrania”

Along with our favorite album cover of the year so far, Canada's Hooded Fang have unleashed a trippy, kaleidoscopic new track from their latest LP, Gravez. The song, “Ode to Subterrania”, is equal parts bizarro-world funhouse and excellent, propeller-driven foottapper. There are elements of early psychedelia as well as very convincing and structured wackiness, and it's a joy to see a band with touches of garage-rock to play around with effects and colorful sonic tapestries. Hooded Fang would be just as comfortable on a beach in Southern Portugal in the 60s as they would be in a cold dive bar in Brighton.

The band releases Gravez through Full Time Hobby/Daps Records on May 28 and are on tour now at the dates listed below.
