Marla Mase, “Everyone Dies”

Post Author: Jessica Ourisman

Marla Mase is about to release her 5th studio album, Miracles: Lost & Found. At her best, she is reminiscent of Sheryl Crowe. At her worst? She’s eclectic. She manages to create a cohesive sound out of a smorgasbord of musical influences… psychedelic, power pop, opera, spoken word, and rock ’n roll. She’s completely in her element with rock ’n roll, so we totally respect that she’s broadening her artistic boundaries with this creative little mixture.

“Everyone Dies” is the leading single for her new album and is coming after a two year hiatus from the music industry (in fact, it appears that Marla was putting some TLC into a passion project, but we’re not 100% sure). In it, she takes on the role of observer in her attempt to make sense of what it means to be human in the modern day world. The end result is a song about Facebook.
