What began as a college band back in 2011 now prepares to release their debut album nearly half a decade after their formation. We’re talking about Future Generations’ first full-length available July 29 from Frenchkiss Records, and we proudly present their world premiere of their pop storming single “Thunder in the City”. Also playing Mercury Lounge the day of their self-titled release, the NYC quartet of Eddie Gore, Eric Grossman, Mike Sansevere & Devon Sheridan take their Fordham University bond to the next bright pop levels of orchestrate bright textures and tones that shine with a cadence that can be seen from all the generations yet to follow. The project blueprints that began in Eddie, Eric & Mike’s dorm room is heard here exploding into post-graduation full bloom where Future Generations take their studies to engineer & design the recipes for all tomorrow’s festivals and main stage momentum.

“Thunder in the City” sees Eddie conjuring up one of the most candy-electro synth-loops that is later wrapped in rhythm progressions and lightning clasping percussion. Sights, sounds & sensations of the city can be heard in lyrics that salute the metropolitan moods and environmental surroundings that can be heard humming in the electric energy from the bass synths and the feelings described like a stroll through the sidewalks & streets of the Big Apple while taking in the rolling rain storms that pepper the summer solstice in the northeast. “Thunder in The City” is an anthem for fans of walking in the middle of rain showers, taking in the wind gusts of leaves & flying folderol with a beaming smile that steps forward with a sense of confidence with each foot walking toward a fantastic & unwritten future.

Future Generations’ leader Eddie Gore shared the following exclusive introduction & preface for their new album:

“This album has been at least three years in the making and we are extremely excited to finally be releasing it out to the world. We’ve grown so much through this process and I have to say that is probably the biggest theme through the whole thing: Growth.

“Thunder In The City” is one of the last songs we wrote for the record and it best embodies our feelings about this release. I don’t want to get too specific about meaning behind the song because it’s not supposed to be specific, but it’s definitely about being happy in a moment and about looking back and being happy with yourself. That’s how we feel about this album.

We are proud of this body of work and excited for people to hear it. We’re so grateful for the support we’ve already received and hope that everyone enjoys these new tunes as much as we do.

Future Generations’ debut full-length self-titled album will be available July 29 from Frenchkiss Records.
