39 Clocks: Nobody deconstructs quite like the Germans

I'm sure there is some really intense statement that fits 39 Clocks new discography into the conversation of post-war German art (something about negating Dadaism through punk ass-holism) but I think I'll leave that subject alone. I'd rather concentrate on the fact that many of these songs sound something like a sex-changed Nico fronting Young Marble Giants — or some of those C86 and Slumberland Records bands we all love so much – except a little more dangerous, totally broken down, and a whole lot more German.
