They are not the first to name their band after the cancer stick but they are the first to sound enough like the nicotine clouds rising from a burning tip to earn the title.

Arlington-based Cigarette hit on some of the timeless riffage and indie rock adage that struck me the first time I heard Air Waves but with vocals buried in introspection and what can only be described as the sound of being too sensitive to enunciate.

If you've ever been high enough, you know this can be the sound of trying to sing without disturbing the universe's tenuous order.
