Crate Digger: Common in the early 90s

Post Author:

Download a Common (Sense) demo from 1991 called Unamerican Caravan.

This is why I love the internet. Common and No I.D. got featured in The Source's then-highly coveted “Unsigned Hype” with this demo tape, and now it's out there for us to download and go nuts with!

Isn't it crazy that we used to not be able to hear the tapes that made artists stars? We're spoiled nowadays with artists releasing digital downloads of their mixtapes on the their websites and stuff. As for this demo, it is really awesome. Filled with breaks, fast rhymes and…voice squeaks?

Yeah, his style changed a lot over the years, but the basic fundamentals of his talent were always there. Just do yourself a favor and download this so you can see what the The Source saw in him back in 1991. Oh and also, keep in mind this whole post may be fiction, according to fakeshoredrive.com. But even if it is, you probably haven't heard these songs before, so it's a win-win.
