Kasbo ft. Cheney, “Call”

It’s always intriguing to see how producers with a penchant for remixes put together compositions from the ground up. In the case of Kasbo’s “Call,” the Swedish producer again showcased why he’s one of the world’s rising producers. At just 21-years-old, Kasbo has achieved tremendous success with a style that, as his Soundcloud notes, is aimed to “make you wanna dance and cry at the same time.”

“Call” begins with a syrupy synth, then English songbird Cheney drops in with gated vocals. Kasbo has fun with the vocal effects throughout the song, but lets Cheney’s voice soar over the momentous chorus. This is where he brings in massive lead synths to give the track a stirring rush. His subtle instrumentation is the one of the track’s strong points, as a thick bevy of synths gyrate around each other on a sweet accord.

Kasbo’s Soundcloud page notes that the song didn’t come to full fruition until he found Cheney’s vocals on his hard drive. We’re glad he did.
