White Fence, “Like That”

Caitlin Greene

White Fence

The first single from White Fence's much-rumored forthcoming album For the Recently Found Innocent is out today; a track called “Like That” sung in a hissing psych falsetto by Tim Presley amid his (and Ty Segall's, we are to assume) jangly guitar clatter.

This is the first White Fence album to be recorded outside of the bedroom, a change-up that — even in Presley's hardline devotion to lo-fi construction — doesn't go unnoticed, especially with the advent of live drumming to his recording operation. The result is jaunty open-air sound, featuring one teasingly short guitar solo we can only hope foreshadows some follow-through elsewhere on the album.

For The Recently Found Innocent is out July 22 on Drag City.
