We all expected it to be the next G.O.O.D. Friday premiere, but Kanye did not hesitate to break us off with the mp3 to his VMA debuted collaboration with Pusha T of The Clipse.

Given the deep red font used to premiere each G.O.O.D. Friday song and the color of Kanye's suit at the MTV VMAs, it seemed obvious that “Runaway” would be the next free download, but then again Kanye has that whole unpredictability streak. One prediction circulating the Internet that did pan out was Pusha T's signing to G.O.O.D. Music, which could lead to not only his solo release, but a new Clipse record on the Kanye label – finally we can stop pretending like we're excited about Big Sean and Consequence records.

The performance is highly lauded, so I won't bore with further ruminations on Kanye's artistic merits, but if people are going to blow his MPC work out of proportion, we'll they've clearly never been to a good hip hop show – no acronym necessary. Could have been the camera angles that hid his work behind the machine, but it looked to me like he merely programmed a sparse piano stab and incorporated a vocal sample over Pusha's verse – kinda rude deal. Not all that impressive, even though the visual interpretations could travel down a plethora of avenues.
