Ninja Tune started twenty years ago this fall, and to celebrate, the quintessential UK label has put together a box set of epic proportions that crams six CDs and six 7-inches, a book, and posters together into one out-sized ode to the label's devotion to international electronic and underground hip hop music.

In conjunction, label co-founder DJ Matt Black spoke freely on five tracks in the collection and put it to tape for a podcast. Download below, and enjoy the tracks.

It's out now in the UK and in early October stateside.

Check Matt Black's audio in the player below or download it here, and enjoy some choice quotes while you stream the Selections.

Funki Porcini, “It's A Long Road”

“This is a moment when I realized taking ecstasy didn't have to be
about jumping up and down… it could also be a fabulous adjunct to
chilling out.”

DJ Vadim and Sarah Jones, “Your Revolution”

“This was her revolution against the sad state of the large proportion
of American so-called rap. And that track got banned for being too
overtly sexual. Irony?”

Steinski & Mass Media, “It's Up To You”

“About the first Iraq War, still relevant to what's happening today.”

Roots Manuva, “Juggle Tings Proper”

“I'd say he is the leading UK poet let alone rapper, at this time.”

Coldcut + Hexstatic, “Timber” (Seiji Remix)

“A last-minute addition to the Ninja Tune XX box set with only a few days to go, which has become one of the instant hits.”
