Shabazz Palaces announces Black Up LP, scores documentary

The Seattle avant-rap collective Shabazz Palaces is likened on its bio at Sub Pop to Bedouins who herd beat rather than goats – a rather apt comparison, considering their enigmatic internet presence and the otherworldly quality of their music. They've announced a new release date for their debut full length Black Up, now set to come out June 28 on Sub Pop Records.

In the meantime, they've scored the upcoming documentary Tough Bond by the Village Beat, about “kids sniffing glue to survive street life in Kenya's disappearing villages and exploding urban slums.” The trailer features the song “Blast it” off their self-titled EP; check it out here.
