Dancing around the drug discussion with Destruction Unit

Destruction Unit

This week Derek and Chris invite Arizona psych-punks Destruction Unit (the entire band + publicist + two friends) into the studio to talk heat, volume, and spirit animals as Derek awkwardly tries to extract information about the band's penchant for psychedelics. Aside from drugs in the Phoenix sun, find out why Jes Aurelius has made it his mission to connect prisoners with the music and literature from the Ascetic House collective and how the band's tendency towards abrasive volume demands attention, and what that means for show-goers' attention spans.

And with DU still in-studio, NY World reporter Laura Nahmias, and writer for publications such as The Wall Street Journal, City and State, and Vice, joins the crowd to talk about the NYC Mayoral Primaries. Of which Destruction Unit would only offer a stern, “fuck the police!”
