Warm Soda, “When Your Eyes Meet Mine”

It having been a matter of months and days since Warm Soda won it with one of the best releases of 2013 with Someone For You, and now the former Bare Wires frontman is already back with news of a new album and a new single. Oakland staple and Fuzz City Studios operator Matthew Melton sings us a romantic stung song of, “When Your Eyes Meet Mine”, from the upcoming LP Young Reckless Hearts available March 11 from Castle Face Records.

The longstanding Castle Face and Fuzz City connection makes for the forging of two separate creative entities that are strong on their own, and even stronger in collaboration. Melton's “Eyes Meet Mine” locks looks with riffs that are unmistakably birthed from Fuzz City that are impossible to erase from mind with the title succinctly repeated as the chorus. Warm Soda succeeds in solidifying the East Bay studio as an indie institution where any alternative era of infectious composition and arrangement can be created through an analogue devotion, a few pints of pure vision, and perhaps a degree of magic. And with Fuzz alums Burnt Ones also prepping their upcoming album for Castle Face, we're still wondering when the anticipated Big Tits full-lenth will be finally announced.

Young Reckless Hearts will be available March 11 from Castle Face Records.
