It’s a good week to be a musician involved with film. That festival in Utah probably has something to do with it, but a few days after Priests and a few ex-Vivian Girls appeared in an Aidy Bryant short film, a new Flying Lotus score is rearing its head.
The short film directed by Eddie Alcazar, FUCKKKYOUUU, is being shown at Sundance this week and is said to deal with themes of “identity, intimacy, and rejection.”
“With the ability to travel in time, a lonely girl finds love and comfort by connecting with her past self. Eventually faced with rejection she struggles with her identity and gender, and as time folds onto itself only one of them can remain.”
You can watch FUCKKKYOUUU featuring the Flying Lotus score below (Warning: there is a lot of blood and nudity). And read Blake Gillespie’s interview with Flying Lotus here.
