MTV 12 is a new homemade music video web series hosted by VJ Misty a/k/a Marissa Paternoster and VJ Dawn Riddle of Bad Canoes (whose explosive noisy punk tape Sisterhood is Powerful is a must-listen). Episode 2 features a countdown of vids by some excellent bands like Street Eaters, Pinkwash, Sourpatch, Radiator Hospital, and more. But what really steals the show is the deadpan humor of their between-video banter which includes double-fisting Polar, hanging with their mascot pup Little, and a fashion show with Philly illustrator/band t-shirt hoarder Perry Shall. Misty eloquently explains in the introduction, “We can’t wait to bring you 12 more super cool rock and roll videos on our top 12 countdown in alphabetical order!” Watch the whole thing below. Speaking of Marissa Paternoster, Screaming Females just released some new music today, a surprisingly jangly guitar-pop song called “Wishing Well”. It’s from a new 7-inch they’ve pressed just in time for their upcoming U.S. tour. You can stream that below, too.
